Columbus Blue Jackets ' Rick Nash (61) skates with the puck as San Jose Sharks ' Patrick Marleau gives chase (12) during the second period of an NHL hockey game, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Columbus, Ohio. The Blue Jackets won 6-3.

San Jose couldn't overcome its slow start on Tuesday night. Jeff Carter had three goals -- two on the power play during Columbus' four-goal first period -- and the last-place Blue Jackets handed the Sharks their season-high fourth straight loss, 6-3. "They were much better prepared to compete than the white team," San Jose coach Todd McLellan said.
